The Honolulu Museum of Art’s summer wine and food event features wines from more than 20 winemakers from around the world and food from some of O‘ahu’s best chefs and restaurants. 

Proceeds from August Moon help fund the museum’s art education programs and build a healthy, creative community.

Featured artist: International artist Hua Tunan will do a live mural painting on the Central Courtyard stage—part of his four-day artist residency. Traveling from Foshan, China, Tunan is known for combining traditional Chinese art and Western graffiti art. On sale will be five original works by Tunan, including three large ink-on-paper works priced at $7,200 each—two eagles (1, 2), and one elephant—and two smaller ink-on-paper works, depicting a tiger ($1,500) and a panda ($2,300).

Art sale: POW! WOW! and Thinkspace Gallery have teamed up to curate an exclusive art sale, featuring 12 eclectic works, all 12”x12” in size and available only at August Moon. Artists include Mari Inukai, Woes, Matt Ritchie and more. Pieces range from $500 to $1,600, and can be previewed here

After the event, any unsold works by Hua Tunan or the Pow!Wow! artists may be purchased through the Honolulu Museum of Art Shop, until Friday, August 12th. Contact shop manager Cori Mackie at to inquire. Shipping available at an additional charge.
