The Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre’s upcoming film series The Bard on the Big Screen illustrates just how universal Shakespeare is. The screen adaptations—set on the London stage, in modern India, post-modern Verona, and the shores of Hawai’i—reflect the myriad ways in which Shakespeare has captured the imagination of filmmakers from across the globe.
Closing-night screening of The Tempest, Nov 30 at 7:30pm: Co-executive producers Jason Lau and John Ching, of TalkStory Productions, will introduce the film and lead a post-screening Q+A.
