Cinémathèque Française Festival 2015

Start spring with 10 new Francophone films at the Fifth Annual Cinémathèque Française Festival. You'll see comedies, dramas, box-office sensations and international hits from the birthplace of cinema and beyond. Alongside top new films from France, Belgium, Canada, and Mauritania, is the restoration of Jacques Demy’s dreamy 1967 homage to Hollywood cinema, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, starring Catherine Deneuve, alongside her sister, Françoise Dorléac.

Opening-night reception: May 2, 6-7:30pm. Enjoy a Franco-Japanese fusion dinner by EAT Honolulu, a glass of wine and live music. Tokyo Fiancée screens at 7:30pm.

On the menu: Salad of kale, shitake mushrooms, chèvre, almonds and lemon vinaigrette • Grilled fresh island fish with orange pimento sauce and Kahuku sea asparagus • Island vegetable ratatouille with fresh herbs, toasted sesame and garlic • Slow-roasted pork with Pommery mustard, white miso sauce and shiso • Stir-fried pearl barley with onions, fennel, ginger and garlic • Fuji apple crisp with matcha whipped cream
