Who can be a volunteer?
Anyone who is willing to volunteer a minimum 10 hours per year at the museum. There are opportunities for people who have just a couple hours to spare a few times a year, or for those who wish to help out at the museum on a long-term, weekly basis. You choose!

Volunteer at the Spalding House gardens
If you appreciate historical and beautiful gardens, nationally acclaimed art and rich local history, you’ll enjoy volunteering at the Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House gardens. Here you will find meaningful assignments that support one of Honolulu’s most treasured destinations, and others dedicated to sharing and celebrating this beautiful place with our friends, neighbors, ohana, and visitors. 3 hours, alternating Saturdays
A variety of duties are available—checking in and banding guests, flyer distribution, assisting with membership sales, assisting museum photographer Shuzo Uemoto by recording people's names to use for captions on the website. You can volunteer once, or help out every month. If you have only a couple hours a few times a year to volunteer, and like a good party, ARTafterDARK is a good option for you. Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday Volunteers
We are looking for groups and individuals to assist with greeting visitors, distributing prizes, checking bags, and assisting with hands-on art activities at this monthly event. If you can only volunteer once a month, Bank of Hawaii Sunday is a good option for you. New volunteers, please fill out an application.
Shift: 5.5 hours, on third Sunday of each month from 10am to 3:30pm.
