Volunteer Program

Join the museum’s family of volunteers—our invaluable Honolulu Museum of Art Volunteer Friends, who are museum advocates, ambassadors and educators. Friends help build a better community by supporting the museum. The Friends’ mission statement says it all: “The purpose of the Honolulu Museum of Art Friends shall be to provide general support for the Honolulu Museum of Art.”

Who can be a Volunteer Friend?
Anyone who is willing to work a minimum 10 hours per year at the museum.
There are opportunities for people who have just a couple hours to spare a few times a year, or for those who wish to help out at the museum on a long-term, weekly basis. You choose!

 What are the benefits?
• Being part of a community that believes in the importance of art and the museum
• Insider access to the museum
• Four Friend events per year, including the annual recognition brunch

How do I join the Honolulu Museum of Art Friends?
Email us at volunteers@honolulumuseum.org or call 532-8737.
We will put you on our volunteer list and once we have confirmed positions that need to be filled, we will send you an invitation by e-mail. Thank you!
