See artists featured in the exhibition Hawai‘i in Design reveal how they work. Kids can make prints using Hawaiian plants and learn about the types of surfboards used in Hawaiian waters.
• Make surfboard prints: Taking inspiration from the Honolulu Surf Film Festival and the surf art in Hawai‘i in Design, kids will make their own patterned prints using surfboard and Hawaiian flora stamps.
• Get colorful: Kids will work with local designer, Nikole Nelson (BLKCORAL), and make bunting flags using fabric with island-themed prints. The flags can be used decorate a corner inside the house or outside on the lanai.
• Sculpt with a master: Using recycled materials, kids will collaborate with Mark Chai to create a sculpture piece.
• Men in Grey Suits: Groove with the dudes from Men in Grey Suits as they play a set of surf rock jams from 11:30am to 12:15pm.
