ARTafterDARK 2009 kicks-off with Mughal, a night highlighting Muraqqa' at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, an exhibition of exquisite Indian miniature paintings from one of the world’s finest collections. On view are paintings, calligraphies and manuscripts created for the Indian emperors Jahangir and Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, in the 17th century. The works are a window to the culture of this pivotal period of Indian history.

Visit the East Indian Trading Co. Lounge (Kinau Court) as singer Ana Monique performs from 6-9PM. Enjoy as DJs Slant, Kentaro a.k.a. Duck, and Xhift magazine's own DJ Xhift spin in Central and Banyan Courtyards.

Miniature paintings by local artist Carrie Able on display and available for purchase in Luce Pavilion.
