'Cock-A-Doodle-New-Year' information

Celebrate the Year of the Rooster at the museum!


Admission is free for museum members and $25 for non-members upon entry. For the same price, you can buy or renew a membership now to get checked in quick at the event, and get in free to ARTafterDARK all year. Members: Get in even faster with your digital member card in the HoMA mobile app.



• Shake your tail feathers to beats by DJ Jem!

• Start your new year off right with a traditional Chinese lion dance and blessing by Wah Yun Culture and Arts Academy. Then watch their wushu (Chinese martial arts) demonstration, followed by a show with some acrobatic prowess!

• After viewing Yun Fei Ji: The Intimate Universe, help decorate a scroll that will tell the story of ARTafterDARK.

• Mobile resolutions: Use the HoMA mobile app's "Social" area to share a New Year's resolution with fellow app users. (Don't have the app? Just search “Honolulu Museum of Art” in the Apple App Store or Google Play to find and download.)

• Steamed pork + shrimp shumai drizzled with white truffle oil, sweet soy + local greens - $7
• Char siu “slider”

• Pan-fried look foon “cake” (vegetarian) with local ginger, bell peppers, ‘Ewa onions + black bean sauce - $7
• “Coq au vin” bowl (also with a vegetarian option) over red rice - $8

• Free Spritis uses Kai Lychee Vodka and sweet lychee juice to make a vodka martini with an Asian twist.
