Honolulu Academy of Arts
'La Plaza de Toros' information
ARTafterDARK is the Honolulu Academy of Arts' monthly art party organized by a dynamic group of young volunteers dedicated to exploring the arts. This month's ARTafterDARK is chaired by Cappi Itagaki & Ken Kawauchi.
Pamplona lets loose its famous Running of the Bulls in July. ARTafterDARK brings some of that Spanish style to the Honolulu Academy of Arts—enter La Plaza de Toros!
DJ Curtis Hokama starts the party off in Central Courtyard, 6-9pm.
Don't miss your chance to see Charito Rivera, Andrell McCray, and Tui Petelo dance—they'll do everything from flamenco to the cha cha. Stick around after the performances to learn some moves! Performances in Central Courtyard, 7pm & 8pm.
Luce Pavilion turns into an Ibiza nightclub with DJ Kevin Tsuji spinning music from trance to house, 6-9pm.
Aña Monique belts Spanish-language pop in Kinau Courtyard, 6:15-9pm.
Scavenger Hunt: It's time for another fun-filled scavenger hunt! This month our inspiration is Picasso, his precursors and influences. Pick up your hunt form in Central Court from our volunteers. Turn in your answers to Kinau Courtyard by 8:30pm to enter the contest. Prizes include (2) ARTafterDARK guest passes and (2) food & beverages tokens to use for any remaining 2010 ARTafterDARK. Three winners will be picked randomly Monday, August 2nd. Good luck!
*Congratulations to our scavenger hunt winners!
