'Seoul Power' information

ARTafterDARK is the Honolulu Academy of Arts' monthly art party organized by a dynamic group of young volunteers dedicated to exploring the arts. This month's co-chairs are Cappi Itagaki and Ken Kawauchi.  

We celebrate Korean innovation with Seoul Power. Seoul's pioneering design and art made it last year's World Design Capital

Movement: The Halla Pai Huhm Studio performs Korean dances. 6:30-6:50pm & 7:30-7:50pm, Central Court
It's live: The Hawaii Korean Ensemble plays a mix of Korean court banquet music, folk songs, and contemporary pieces. 7-7:30pm & 8-8:30pm, Central Court
Spin cycle: Slant and Kevin Tsuji play K-pop hits. 6-9pm, Luce Pavilion
Get physical: Watch demonstrations from Master David Ippen and crew from the Taekwon-Do Center Honolulu. 7:15 & 8:30pm, Kinau Courtyard
Karaoke: Here's your chance to show off your mad singing skills. Both English and Korean songs available. 6-8:50pm, Banyan Courtyard

Highlight exhibition: Masterpieces of Korean Art (Gallery 14)

Watch: Four talented artists from the Korean Artist Association of Hawaii demonstrate different Korean art techniques.

Luce Pavilion:

tofu, watercress and kim chee
kalbi and twin bridge potato
black pepper and sake poached pears (baesuk)

Kinau Courtyard:
Local vegetable bibimbop with Kulana grass-fed beef and slow-poached egg
