About the Film:

Jules Massenet
Opera in four acts
In French with English subtitles
170 minutes including one intermission
Performed July 2011

For the first time ever, The Royal Opera House presents the story of Cinderella as told in Massenet’s opera Cendrillon. Joyce DiDonato “exudes intelligence and artistry in every nuance” in the title role, with “stupendous” mezzo-soprano Alice Coote in the role of Prince Charming (The Observer). Dazzling runs and sparkling coloratura shimmer throughout the evening, with French music specialist Bertrand de Billy at the podium.

Please note: Due to circumstances beyond our control, La Cenerentola: A Fairytale from Torino is no longer screening on Dec. 16 and 18, as indicated in the museum's members' magazine.
