Welcome to the world of the Netherlands Dans Theater’s in-house choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot. During this evening, they take you with them to their artistic universe. You can see the characteristic style of the successful Spanish-British choreographer duo in the humorous SH-Boom, and enjoy the powerful, theatrical Same Difference, set to music by Philip Glass. The closing performance of Shoot the Moon, also with the beautiful sounds of Glass, gives you a glimpse into the love lives of several characters.
Special guest at 1pm screening: Eve Walstrum, Artistic Director, Queen Emma Ballet, will introduce the film.
Artistic Director, Eve Walstrum danced for twelve years with the internationally acclaimed Netherlands Dance Theatre under the direction of Jiri Kylian. She also performed with Eliot Feld's American Ballet Company in New York and the Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. Since her arrival in Honolulu in 1986, she has choreographed for several local dance companies including Ballet Hawaii, Dances We Dance, the University of Hawaiʻi, and the Tau Dance Theater. She is currently on the faculty of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
