For the Verona opera festival’s 88th edition, internationally acclaimed director Franco Zefirelli delivers an opulent staging of this Puccini masterpiece. The fairytale recounts the love story of Chinese Princess Turandot, who will only marry a prince capable of solving her riddles. The production stars the brilliant Russian soprano Maria Guleghina with Salvatore Licitra’s radiant tenor voice. Captured live on July 24 and August 13, 2010.
