About the Film:

Alexei Ratmansky | Ballet in Three Acts | Music by Leonid Desyatnikov | 180 minutes

Based on Honoré de Balzac’s timeless novel, Lost Illusions is a new ballet created by celebrated choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, which tells the story of a young composer lured away from his friends and his love by the prospects of fame and money. Set in 19th-century Paris, where ambition, disillusionment, and thwarted love take center stage, this stylized adaptation is set to a spellbinding original score.

Performed live Feb. 2, 2014, at Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow
