About the Film:
Directed by Simon Lamb. Australia. 2014. 64 mins
Tony Hussein Hinde was the man at the center of one of surfing’s great fairytales. As a 20-year–old, the Australian embarked on a surf adventure at a time when many of the world’s best surf breaks were yet to be discovered. What Tony found was perfect surf on a chain of coral atolls in the middle of the Indian Ocean, an eastern Islamic culture and a new identity. For 15 years, Tony consumed the perfect waves in the perfect location, now commonly known as the Maldives. Serendipity is a film that pays tribute to the ultimate surfing destination; a surfing legend and the journey that made a fairytale come true.
Had Too Much to Dream Last Night
Directed by Dustin Humphrey. Austrailia/Indonesia. 2014. 15 mins
Follow Australian surfers Harrison Roach and Bryce Young as they journey across Indonesia. Connected by ribbons of tarmac and separated by deep ocean valleys, the Indonesian archipelago is a veritable Eden for waves of every nature, from long reeling glassy point breaks to sketchy urchin-infested waves in the middle of nowhere.
