In this sweet tale about love and acceptance, a young zebra, rejected by his herd for having only half his stripes, sets out on a mission across the Karoo Desert to find the legendary water hole where the first zebras got their distinctive markings.

Created as part if the Maui Huliau Foundation’s Environmental Filmmaking Club and inspired by Dr. Suess’s The Lorax, this claymation by four Maui middle school students uses 667 images to show how irresponsible shoreline development can impact our precious reef ecosystem. Filmed and edited by Taylor Redman, grade 7, St. Anthony’s School; Kawelu Higashino, grade 7, Montessori School; Kaya Goosby, grade 7, Kalama Intermediate School; Troy Lau, grade 8, Kalama Intermediate School.
