Part of Hōkūleʻa: The Past, Present, and Future

Hōkūleʻa, our Star of Gladness, began as a dream of reviving the legacy of exploration, courage, and ingenuity that brought the first Polynesians to the archipelago of Hawaiʻi. The Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage was born out of this rich history.

See footage of Hōkūleʻa's journeys, from 1975 to the present, then talk story with Polynesian Voyaging Society members:

Bruce Blankenfeld, pwo (master) navigator

Miki Tomita, education director and crew member

Elisa Yadao, volunteer

Mahalo nui to partners ‘Ōiwi TV and Polynesian Voyaging Society for making this special evening possible.
