About the Film:

Directed by Phil Grabsky. UK. 2018. 85 mins.

Exhibition on Screen allows you to see the blockbuster exhibition Cézanne Portraits without boarding a plane! The show started at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris in June 2017 and will next be on view at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., March 25 to July 1. You can’t appreciate 20th-century art without understanding the significance and genius of Paul Cézanne. Featuring interviews with curators and experts from the National Portrait Gallery London, MoMA, National Gallery of Art, and Musée d’Orsay, and correspondence from the artist himself, the film takes audiences beyond the exhibition to the places Cézanne lived and worked and sheds light on an artist who is perhaps the least known of all the impressionists—until now.
