Nakul (Ayushmann Khurrana, Andhadhun, in top form), already dealing with pressures about his own romantic relationship, gets an unexpected surprise when his middle-aged parents announce they will be welcoming a new “little guest” to the family. Aside from the shockingly embarrassing realizations about his parents’ love life, Nakul and his family also face scrutiny and judgment from their middle-class neighbors. Badhaai Ho is one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2018 and broke numerous box office records in India.
Opening night reception: Saturday, Jan 5 at 6pm
The festival kicks off with a reception in the Luce Pavilion featuring an Indian feast and complimentary mehndi. A short workshop let by Aaja Nachle Hawaii will be included in the festivities. Wine and beer available for purchase. Badhaai Ho screens at 7:30pm.
