About the Lecture:
Hawaiian cultural practitioner and Tattoo Honolulu artist Keone Nunes will give an illustrated presentation on the symbolism and significance of traditional uhi (tattoo) designs. Nunes will discuss the process of kakau (giving a tattoo to someone) and the responsibility that comes with receiving one. Includes examples of moli and hahau (traditional handmade tools) and inks.
