About the Performance:

Starting this month, every third Wednesday brings to the Doris Duke Theatre stage a Music of Hawai‘i concert.

What is Hawaiian music? The lineup through January of traditional and contemporary performers—all of them winners of a 2013 Na Hoku Hanohano award—define the music of the islands today. Enjoy living legends and next generation talents in a theater with great acoustics and comfortable seats.

This new concert series, organized by music programmer Brandon Apeles, kicks off with Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner and Grammy nominee Weldon Kekauoha. His smooth harmony and amazing musicianship will make this a night to remember.

Plus, it's Weldon's birthday! Come help him celebrate—he promises something special to mark the event.

We hope he does his achingly sweet rendition of Queen's Jubilee.
