Last Saturday Roots in Jazz: Starr Kalahiki

Saturday Dec 21 07:30 PM

Doris Duke Theatre

Museum members: $30.00
General Admission: $35.00

About the Performance:

Inspired by the Henry David Thoreau quote, "Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake," sultry vocalist Starr Kalahiki has put together two sets that will first take you on a musical exploration of "growing up in Honolulu" and then put you in the holiday mood. The thrilling first set is a catchy narrative of such great tunes as Pure Imagination, from the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory soundtrack, E Ku‘u Morning Dew, the exotica number Jungle Drums, and the Rosemary Clooney hit Come on-a My House—all done in Starr's inimitable style, of course.
