Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Abe Lagrimas, Jr. returns to Honolulu as he presents the official CD Release Concert for his latest 'ukulele album, "Rhythm & Uke." This special event features some of Abe's musical mentors on drums, ukulele, and vibraphone. The theme of "Rhythm & Uke" explores the musical simplicity and complexity of Hawaii's popular instrument, the 'ukulele, combined with the rhythmic elements of jazz, Hawaiian, folk, and contemporary music. Whether you are a fan of the 'ukulele, a jazz purist, or island music, Abe has something special in store for everyone.
Abe Lagrimas, Jr. is a Na Hoku Hanohano-award winning recording artist, music educator, and author. His musical journey began when he first sat behind the drums at the age of four. As he learned more about drums and music, Abe gained an interest in other instruments as his career progressed. Predominantly known as a drummer, Abe is highly proficient on the vibraphone and the `ukulele and continues to perform throughout the world on all three instruments and in many different musical situations.
