HI Society Talk Program: Who Lives Here? | April A.H. Drexel and Aaron Padilla

Showtimes:

Sunday Oct 26 02:30 PM

Location:

Spalding House Café

About the Lecture:

Artist April A.H. Drexel and Aaron Padilla, Spalding House’s curator of education, discuss Drexel’s installation Kūpa‘a. Addressing the question “who lives here?” Drexel will talk about her concept to visualize the genealogy of the land—its transactions and ownerships—on which Spalding House sits, as well as of other estates that make up Makiki Heights.

HI Society Talk Program
This event is the first of two public talks presented by Hawai‘i Council for the Humanities and the Honolulu Museum of Art. The Talk Program takes themes from the exhibition HI Society, part of Spalding House’s ongoing education-driven exhibition series, and explores social issues such as identity, diversity, and power in Hawai‘i.
