Hawaii Five-0 actor Dennis Chun stars in Dennis Chun: The Musical, a fully impovised musical comedy featuring local celebrities. The show is based on the life of Dennis Chun, who has been a professional actor in Hawai‘i since the 1970s.
The show combines hit Broadway musicals and the popular improv TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway? Everything from the music to the dance moves to the song lyrics are completely made up, creating a completely unique comedy experience.
See Kimee Balmilero from Hawaii Five-0 interview special guests on stage, as well as opening performances by the Improv Hawaii Players and musical guests. This is Improv Hawaii’s 2017 premiere show. It leads into their ongoing classes and monthly improv jams at The Arts at Marks Garage in Chinatown.

Dennis Chun is in his 7th season of portraying Sgt. Duke Lukela on Hawaii Five-0. His other television credits include appearances on the original Hawaii Five-0, The Brady Bunch, Magnum P.I., Jake and the Fatman, Eight is Enough, and Island Son. His movie credits include Inferno in Paradise and Goodbye Paradise. He has also appeared in numerous local plays and commercials. Dennis is the son of Kam Fong who was the original Chin Ho Kelly on classic Hawaii Five-0. He will appeare in a short film entitled Same T'ing which is expected to make the rounds through film festivals this summer.
A student of beloved Hawai‘i theatre director Ronald E. Bright, Kimee Balmilero’s professional credits include the three-time Emmy Nominated series Hi-5, the original Broadway cast of Mamma Mia and now Hawaii Five-0. While working in New York and LA for 15+ years, Kimee founded improvhi.com, a company dedicated to improv comedy in Honolulu and produced the first ever Hawaii Sketch Comedy Festival at the Doris Duke Theatre in March 2015. Established in 2011, improvhi started as an online hub for local improv and sketch comedy shows. Since then, improvhi has expanded to a performance troupe once a month.
