See Art Description

On this art-making tour, students will explore the flora and fauna of the Spalding House gardens, capturing their observations of this microcosm in their very own field journal. Through a variety of artistic media, and inquiry-based activities, students will learn to slow down, to notice, to connect with the natural world and to utilize visual approaches to synthesizing new learning.

Make Art Description

During half of this tour, students will explore the imaginative landscape of David Hockney’s installation, "L'Enfant et les sortilèges" and then work with our teaching artists to create their own imaginative landscape in watercolor on the cover of their field journals.
