Facing front, behind table, is young woman seated in green chair, wearing long yellow bob, gold heart necklace, salmon-rust, V-neck blouce with long sleeves verging into gray with ruffles at wrist. Right hand extends forward on book; left hand rests on table near body. Background: royal blue, with paint removed to form cross-hatching and leaf panel. Technique: Sketchy, with paint thinly applied and canvas untouched in seveal places. Frame: elaborate, antiqued.
