The Shunkömon Gate

The Shunkömon Gate

This suite of prints appears to be a reinterpretation of the images that Odagiri Shunkö (1810-1888) produced for his version of Famous Views of Owari Province (Owari Meisho Zue), 1838-1841. Owari Province is now the western half of present-day Aichi Prefecture, including Nagoya City. Before its relocation in 1924, the Shunkömon gate was located in the Atsuta Shrine Complex.
