Explore the creative applications of various traditional techniques such as alla prima, impasto, and paint application with a palette knife in non-traditional ways. Additionally, students will explore using organic and inorganic additives to create unique textures and effects. While working through a process of trial and error, experimentation with materials will be encouraged, and an emphasis will be placed on creating loose and expressive work. Visits to the museum's galleries and the use of objects from the Lending Collection will provide inspiration for your work.

Basic materials will be provided, and a list of additional suggested supplies will be provided on the first day of class.

Registration for this class closes on December 29.
