'Jet Set' information
The evening takes off with Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Holunape serenading you (from 6 to 7pm)—just like the days when you boarded the plane on the tarmac. As you clutch your vintage Pan Am bag, get ready for round-the-world Flight 001, with touchdowns in Toyko, Rio, Berlin, Madrid and Paris.
• See art: Get a taste of Japan in the new exhibition: 77 Dances: Japanese Calligraphy by Poets, Monks, and Scholars, 1568-1868. Join Honolulu Academy of Arts docent Allison Roscoe for a zip tour of this exhibition at 7pm.
• Dance the samba: Your first stop is Rio at the **WHITE PARTY** Capoeira Besoura Hawaii performs at 6pm. The samba under the stars to music mixed by erstwhile Brazilian DJ Caju.
• Dance, Lola, Dance: Destination Berlin (via London) with industrial sounds from ** DJ Nocturna**
• Piensa en mi: You have an overnight in Madrid—swoon to **Spanish Ballads by Ana Monique **
L'Arrivé: The jetsetting ends in Paris with **Violetta Beretta of the Cherry Blossom Burlesque**
Eat: In Luce Pavilion, E&O Trading Co. serves up Fuhrmannsbraten and Dusseldorf chicken with spaetzle (jah, das ist sehr gut!). In Kinau Court make like a madrileno and graze on tapas—with the flavors of roasted vegetables, oxtail, grilled salsa and shrimp with cilantro, lime, roasted garlic and onion.
**Did you know that Fuhrmann was an important man from the middle ages? He wandered from town to town spreading news of places he'd visited. Villagers flocked to see him and hear the news of exciting places far and wide. It was because of his exciting aura that people started to name dishes after him.**
