Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday event information

Children can see actual sunken treasure in the exhibition At World's End–The Story of a Shipwreck: Works by Diane KW then make a pirate sock puppet and its own puppet theatre.

Note: Activities end at 3pm.


Artist Lisa Shiroma will guide kids in making a pirate sock puppet. Arrrrr!

Reid Tabata helps aspiring puppeteers make their own mini theater for the pirate to perform.


Circus Olina takes over the museum. Children can enjoy Circus Olina performance and try out their balance beam, walking globe, hula hoop, and learn how to spin plates.


11:10am + 1pm: We screen: Talk to the Animals, featuring animation from 10 countries.
$3 adults, $1 children


 Take the free shuttle from Honolulu Museum of Art for more activities and entertainment at our new Family Day at Spalding House in Makiki Heights.


For kids (ages 1-17): 
The museum gives contestants a theme and drawing supplies. 
The winner receives a Supporting Membership to the Honolulu Museum of Art ($100 value), and his or her artwork is used to create the following month’s event brochure and is posted on the museum's website.

For adults (age 18 and up):
The museum gives contestants a theme and drawing supplies.
The winner receives a gift certificate for a Lauhala and Lunch picnic for two at Spalding House ($35 value, good for six months from receipt).
