Dr. Rebecca Senf: Ansel Adams: Environmentalism Born of Experience
Wednesday Aug 21 04:00 PM
Doris Duke Theatre
About the Lecture:
Dr. Rebecca Senf, an Ansel Adams scholar, will speak about the photographer’s wilderness experiences as they influenced his career. His early years as a member of the Sierra Club, his relationships with environmentalism mentors, and his later experiences as a champion of the National Parks system will be discussed. Some of Adams’s best known pictures will be put into context, and little known works that reveal his learning process will also be shown.
Dr. Rebecca Senf is the Norton Family Curator at the Center for Creative Photography and Phoenix Art Museum.
