About the Performance:
Last year, Tuck Andress and Patti Cathcart stunned audiences with their amazing talent. If you missed that landmark show, here is your second chance. The legendary, charismatic jazz duo has a cult following—they were tapped to be part of Maya Rudolph’s band Bahama Knights in a meta appearance on Portlandia last year.
These veteran performers have shared the stage with everyone from Count Basie to Miles Davis. In 1989, the New York Times wrote, “Not since Ella Fitzgerald teamed up with Joe Pass has a guitar-and-vocal duo made pop-jazz music as silky-sounding as Tuck and Patti.” Twenty-five years later, the pair has only gotten better. Tuck Andress, playing in a lilting Wes Montgomery style, accompanies Patti Cathcart’s gospel-inflected vocals on jazz and pop standards and their own original songs. Tuck studied classical guitar at Stanford University while Patti was classically trained in the Bay Area. After meeting at an audition, the pair married three years later, and it has been a match made in music heaven. After building a loyal following in the Bay Area, Tuck & Patti began recording together in 1988. Their album, Love Warriors made the Billboard 200 in 1989, and Dream charted in 1991.
