*No class Mar 18
This class explores the traditions of relief and freestanding sculpture, familiarizing students with the materials and techniques of additive and subtractive processes. Students study the essential elements and principles of three–dimensional design as they model in oil–based clay, make plaster molds, and shape metal wire constructions. Composition, problem solving, experimentation, and development of craft will be stressed. Drawing experience is not required, but is a plus.
