About this Class:
Workshop / 2 sessions / $200 / Room 202 / Sat–Sun 9:30–4:30pm / March 19–20
This two-day workshop for intermediate skill level participants focuses on creating dynamic landscape paintings in the classroom using carefully designed shapes, on finding an initial central idea, on working with color changes relative to the light direction, and on keeping things simple and vibrant with good value contrast, color contrast, edge variety and space. Instructor provides color copies of local scenes, allowing participants to practice indoors on familiar scenery, while enhancing and expanding the color and shapes. For folks who like to paint outdoors this is a valuable first stage to develop skills that loan themselves to successful outdoor painting. Class covers basic watercolor techniques, materials and ways to think about landscape painting that make the process easy, approachable and fun.
