About this Class:
Workshop /5 sessions / $100 / Room 200 / Mon-Fri 1-4pm / May 23-27
Working from a new still life each day, a colorful selection of objects borrowed from the Museum’s lending collection. Students are encouraged to work large scale with big chunks of charcoal. Each day is dedicated to a theme, such as: deciding on composition (importance of squinting and distance), gradual development of the picture, value (tonal thinking), mark making techniques (free expressions) and dynamics. Designed to help students let go their fears, enjoy concentrated work, and clear up the seemingly chaotic arrangement of a sophisticated stilllife.
