About this Class:

This six-week course provides students with an introduction to the art of photography and using a camera in manual mode. What makes a great photograph?  Why are some images inspiring and powerful while others are not? As students develop their own unique sense of seeing, the class will cover camera mechanics (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), exposure value, manual mode, compositional techniques, camera care, and tripod use. This course will incorporate slide lectures, in-class demonstrations, group discussion and critique as well as active practice and nearby photography field trips.

Required: SLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens (50mm lens recommended). Digital camera recommended though film can also be used if student has access to developing work.

No class Oct 10
