About this Class:

Awaken creativity and sight. Learn to make compelling photographs. Explore the fundamentals of personal expression through photography and discover your unique vision. Investigate the key elements of the visual language through assignments, slide presentations, and individual critiques for all types of photographic work. The discovery of an individual style and point of view is emphasized. Class content is distilled from the instructor’s forty years of teaching photography.

Prerequisite: A basic familiarity with your camera. Open to all levels from novice to professional. All camera types are welcome, including cell phones.

Please bring 6-8 jpeg images of your work on a thumb drive to the first class.

Artist bio
David Ulrich is a photography professor who teaches at Pacific New Media and Chaminade University. He is an active photographer and writer whose work has been published in numerous books and journals including Aperture, Parabola, MANOA, and Sierra Club publications. David’s photographs have been exhibited in over seventy-five one-person and group exhibitions in museums, galleries, and universities. He is the author of The Widening Stream: the Seven Stages of Creativity and Zen Camera: Creative Awakening with a Daily Practice in Photography(Ten Speed Press/Random House, 2018).  www.creativeguide.com
