Introduction to copper etching using Baldwins Ink Ground (BIG). Learn basic intaglio techniques on copper using less toxic methods then more traditional ones. Classes will cover such techniques as aquatint (sandpaper and powdered sugar), coffee lift, soft and hard ground using BIG as our primary material. All techniques will be demonstrated and practiced to create precise and improvised prints. Time permitting, participants will also be given the opportunity to explore other techniques including, but not limited to, Chine-cole and glazing.
