Get inspired by the works in the exhibition Drawn from the Street: The Politics and Poverty in Postwar Manga and learn how to turn your own  stories into a two-page manga in this workshop. Participants will learn basic manga narrative techniques such as composition, panel layout, and dialogue and how they contribute to telling an engaging story. Materials provided.

Brady Evans is an illustrator and comic artist born, raised, and working in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. He enjoys creating stories and characters that draw on folklore from around the world as well as his own experiences and multicultural family history. He is active in the worlds of book cover illustration, table top games, video game art, children’s books, and album covers. In 2023 he released his first collection of short story comics “The Speaking Stones and Other Stories,” bringing together twelve works written and drawn over the course of a decade.
