Accessibility

The Honolulu Museum of Art strives to be accessible to all visitors, offering a range of services to accommodate diverse needs: 

 

Accessible parking

Accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in both the Ward Avenue and Victoria Street parking lots.  

Accessible drop-off 

Accessible entrances are available for visitors at the Ward Avenue and Victoria Street parking lots. 

Accessible restrooms

Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are throughout the museum in the Central Courtyard, and below the Palm Courtyard and Luce Pavillion.  

Wheelchairs at HoMA 

All public areas of the museum are wheelchair accessible. Elevators and ramps are available for access to the museum’s three floors. Complimentary manual wheelchairs are available and can be requested by speaking to any of HoMA Visitor Engagement or Security staff.

Museum seating  

Benches are located throughout the galleries. In our outdoor spaces, tables and chairs are in the Central and Palm Courtyards, and benches are in the Palm and Kīnaʻu Courtyards.

Service animals 

Service animals are welcome at HoMA. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.

Quiet times to visit 

HoMA is quietest 2-6pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Note that holidays and weekends, particularly Family Sundays, can be crowded.  

Assistive resources 

The Doris Duke Theatre is equipped with the Easy Listener Hearing Assistance System and can be picked up at the theatre box office.
