Drawing and Painting Portraits

Study drawing and painting from live sitters for a three-hour pose each class. Capturing an accurate portrait of a subject requires a skill set that can be developed from repeated study. This course is open to students of all levels. Beginning pupils will draw until basic skills are established, and all students will choose to work in watercolor or oil painting mediums. Instructor participation and advice will be woven throughout each session on an individual and group basis. Lessons and demonstrations will be supported by museum visits to view exhibitions and the permanent collection.
