Explore the basic techniques of sculpting the human figure in terracotta. Each session you will work from a live model to create small figurative studies. Beginning lessons will focus on proportion and scale and progress to cover texture and more. Explore fundamental principles of art such as movement and balance with a focus on basic anatomy that will help you to gain a better understanding of how to represent the human form in three dimensions. Periodic visits to the museum to explore exhibitions as well as objects from the museum’s Lending Collection will support lessons throughout the class.

Registration for this class closes on April 4.
