Learn how to dye fabric with beautiful patterns and colors using various shibori techniques. We will explore using colorful fiber reactive dyes, as well as indigo. A series of demonstrations will give insight into ways to use shibori dyed and other fabrics in artistic projects including simple patchwork, collage, and stitching. There will be plenty of open studio time for each student to develop their creative voice and visits to the museum will provide inspiration. Basic supplies will be provided; however, students are encouraged to bring specific supplies to achieve their artistic vision. There will be an hour of Open Studio time that you are welcome to join, immediately following class, from 11am to 12pm.

Registration for this class closes on April 5.

Art for Life classes are tailored for 55+ adults and strive to unleash your creativity and self-expression while building a sense of community. Each class is an opportunity for self-directed learning and social interaction and culminates in a gathering that celebrates your work.
