This course explores the essential elements of art related to drawing human figures in pictorial space. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the body’s underlying anatomical structure while exploring form, volume, movement, proportion, perspective, and light notation while drawing from a live model. Processes taught include gesture, contour line, and full-value drawing. Includes visits to the museum’s galleries, where works from the permanent collection will provide inspiration, supplement in-class demonstrations, and support your growth throughout the course. All levels of experience are welcome.

Please note that there will be no class on Nov. 29.

Registration for this class closes on Oct. 4.
