Young artists will take ideas from concept to creation as we imagine and build unique figurative sculptures. Learn how to conceive characters, use colored pencil techniques to design, create wire armatures, and apply polymer clay to add color and detail to sculptures. We will explore using line, shape, form, and the other elements of art and bake finished work to preserve the textural and sculptural detail that you create. Visits to the museum's galleries and objects from the Lending Collection will provide inspiration and enhanced lessons. A collaborative environment will provide opportunities to discuss ideas and artwork with classmates.
Registration for this class closes on April 21.
