Prerequisites: Students should know basic metalworking and jewelry techniques such as sawing, piercing, filing, simple surface finishing, and soldering.
This intermediate jewelry course builds upon fundamental jewelry and metalworking techniques. Visits to explore the museum's collection support lessons and provide inspiration for your work. Potential projects and skills include cold connections, hollow construction, and bezel stone setting. This course is great for students who have taken Metalwork and Jewelry for Beginners at HoMA School or meet the prerequisites. Nonprecious metals are included with tuition.
The studio is outfitted with the tools and equipment that you will need. Please come to class with closed-toe shoes.
