Learn and hone the essential skills for creating wheel-thrown pottery. Students will explore various thrown forms like cups, bowls, vases, and lidded forms. Particular attention is given to functional wares, surface decorations, and the development of a personal aesthetic. Students with wheel-throwing experience who are comfortable working independently will be supported in advancing their skills while working on self-directed projects. Beginning students are also welcome and will receive basic wheel-throwing instruction. Lessons will be enhanced by demonstrations and visits to view the museum’s collection. One bag of Granite clay body and all firings and glazes are included with tuition.

Please note that there will be no class on Nov. 28.
