Explore a variety of fiber arts techniques such as shibori using fiber reactive dyes, expressive hand stitching, and weaving. Students will create a series of samples in each technique. Visits to see the museum's collections provide inspiration during open studio days where students can create using techniques of their choice with individual guidance from the instructor. Objects from the Lending Collection will also supplement demonstrations, provide inspiration, and support course content. The class welcomes beginners as well as experienced students who want to explore new techniques to add to their practice. Students should bring a mixed-media sketchbook and folder/binder to the first class.

Please note that there will be no class on Dec. 1.

Registration for this class closes on Oct. 6.

Note: Clairefontaine Goldline Mixed-media Art Journals are available in the HoMA Shop.
