Join us at HoMA Nights on Friday, October 18, for a special members-only program from 4:30 to 6pm, before the event Celebrating Navrati begins.

Members-only event details

4:30pm • Gallery talk (Gallery 24)
Explore Southeast Asian art in Gallery 24 with Curator of Asian Art Shawn Eichman, as he discusses an important sculpture of the Goddess Durga, and dance scholar Sumoha Min, who will share the significance and cultural practices associated with Navratri, the Hindu festival that celebrates women and empowerment.

5pm • Dance demonstration and refreshments (Palm Courtyard)
Watch a lively demonstration of the traditional folk dances, garba and raas, in Palm Courtyard while enjoying South Asian snacks and beverages.

6pm • Celebrating Navratri! Performances and Workshops
Receive a complimentary pair of colorful dandiya sticks (while supplies last) and join the festivities, dancing the night away in Central Courtyard!
