Join HT25 artist Hayv Kahraman in conversation with Dr. Báyò Akómoláfé, distinguished activist, educator, poet, and public intellectual, for a thought-provoking dialogue. Hayv’s work is connected to the fable Gamla and Barghooth, a darkly humorous story that explores the suffering of various living organisms and culminates in the burning of the ultimate mother: the womb. This narrative invites us to reflect on our cyclical failures within a multispecies cosmology, where loss and grief may offer a "crack" or a "break."

In this conversation, Dr. Báyò Akómoláfé will discuss the concept of these “cracks”—disruptive events that throw us off balance, creating wounded spaces where new ways of being may emerge. For Kahraman, these cracks symbolize an opening that allows us to glimpse a new political imagery, suggesting that even in moments of suffering, transformation and healing are possible.  Moderated by HT25 curator Wassan Al-Khudhairi.
